We have a lot of fun at the Summer Crafting Fun Weekend Retreat. This retreat is based on the Stampin’ Up! release of the Annual Catalog. The focus at this retreat is relaxing and inspiration with more challenging paper fun-fold or interactive crafting project.

Our setting for this retreat will be Saint Andrew’s House Retreat Center in Union, WA. This beautiful venue overlooks picturesque Hood Canal. Here you’ll enjoy great conversation, six delicious locally sourced chef-prepared meals, cozy rooms in a rustic, historic log lodge, majestic views of the water and Olympic Mountains (weather cooperating, of course) and free time to enjoy our inner and outer landscapes. Union is a wonderful small town to explore. Consider taking advantage of our early reservations on Thursday night and take a ferry ride from Seattle.

We will be trying out new and exciting products with a focus on learning over the top projects. Plus, you’ll be taking home a bag full of new products to work with.

The retreat is on with limited attendees. Vaccinations are required but masks are not.

By demand, we have created a mail home retreat option available in the past.  If interested, please sign up for more information below by registering.

WHAT IS MARKETPLACE?:

It has been my experience from past events that some guests like to take their time and not be rushed (that’s me). I’ve designed the event so you can complete included technique projects without being rushed. However, there are those who stay up late or quick at completing the projects so I have created the MarketPlace. The MarketPlace is where top paper crafting designers will offer projects to be completed that are more detailed projects (or just plain cute), ranging from cards to gift giving. This is your opportunity to craft amazing projects with the designer on hand to help guide you and answer questions. These projects are optional. The prices and themes will vary, generally between $3 to $25.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where is the retreat?

A little town called Union, Washington with small town charms stretching along the Hood Canal.

What should I bring to the event?

Unless you are staying an extra day, I would bring minimal crafting supplies besides your favorite drink or snack. All project supplies are provided except for the following:
1) High quality acrylic blocks for stamping: sizes b, c, d, e, and h
2) Your favorite craft adhesive (I supply Liquid Glue, Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots)
3) Your favorite pair of scissors or trimmer
4) Inks: 2022-2023 In Color Inks and a Black

What if I already have the Retreat Stamp Set?

You can substitute the retreat stamp set if you already have it. You’ll need to bring it to the retreat as you’ll be using it for all projects. You’ll be able to select your stamp set during registration.

What are the rooms like?

There are three types of rooms;
Double Rooms with a bathroom
Single Room with Twin Bed and shared bathroom
Shared Rooms with Bunk Beds with shared bathrooms.

Shared bathrooms are available down the halls. There are no sinks in the rooms, except for the Double Rooms with bathroom.

The shared rooms with shared bathrooms will be assigned based on how many are coming in your group and when you register.   I will not automatically add a new person to a group.

I would describe the rooms as basic cozy, comfortable and linens are included.

Because of all the different options with lodging, there are different registration levels. It’s best if you are looking for a double room with a bathroom to secure your registration with a friend as soon as possible.

Can I stay an extra day?

YES! The rooms are availabile Thursday night. If you are interested, you can add an extra night during registration. There will be no food service but there is a refrigerator if you would like to bring your food and some wonderful restaurants locally. We usually spend the day in the town and enjoy the quaintness of the town and cuisine. Good dining out options are available within 13 miles Union Square Deli, Robin Hood Restaurant and Pub, Alderbrook Resort and Spa, Alderbrook Golf Club, Union Country Store, and Two Margaritas.  Also, you can get a massage at the Alderbrook Resort and Spa.  Depending upon how many people we have this year, we may have access to the water for kayaking or paddle boarding.

What's the weather like?

It should be warm, with a cool breeze. The crafting room and the lodging rooms have air conditioning.

Is my registration/ticket transferable?

You are able to transfer your registration to someone else or have the projects mailed to you.

What is the refund policy?

Due to the nature of this intimate event, details are planned and personalized far in advance for each of our guests, so all deposits and payments are 100% non-refundable. The registration fees are invested to secure your spot and to order the supplies.

In the unlikely event the retreat is cancelled by the organizer because of weather or illness, you will have an option to either attend a rescheduled event or we will refund lodging and food costs and send you all the supplies to complete the projects at home.

What if I have a food allergy?

The retreat’s food service staff receives great reviews from guest groups, especially it’s homemade goods. Special assistance is available for individuals with specific dietary needs, including diabetics and vegetarians. There is a guest refrigerator in the lodge. Please let me know during registration if you have specific dietary needs.

I have a mobility challenge, can I still attend?

The rooms are all upstairs except for the two double rooms with attached bathrooms on the lower level. These room usually go to attendees who come year after year and pay in advance.

When are meals served?

We are the only guests at the retreat, so we have some flexibility on meal times. Breakfasts are served at 9:00am. Lunch is served at noon. Dinner is generally served around 6:00pm. There is no meal service on Friday but we will have appetizers available (enough for a meal). Coffee, tea, water and an assortment of beverages will be available in the stamping area during the day.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

I’m happy to help. Please use the Contact Us link at the top of the page to contact me.
