Why Two Version

Why two versions of the same document? Have you noticed that we offer you both PDF files and DOC files and you wonder why? Here's the scoop! We try to provide you several options to help you work efficiently and prevent you from having to recreate the wheel, while still providing you with flexibility. How?

PDF stands for Portable Document Format, a format created by Adobe that can be viewed on most computers regardless of their brand or operating system. Using the PDF files will allow pretty much anyone who receives your file to view it. Just update the contact information fields in the PDF files, save and send as an email attachment. The other advantage of a PDF file is that they are generally smaller in size, so your customers will appreciate that. Free software for viewing PDF files are available to download.

So why do we provide a Microsoft Word DOC file also? Microsoft Word DOC files can only be opened and viewed if you have Microsoft Word on your computer. If you have Microsoft Word, you can open the DOC files and edit them. Say you want to offer a card class, but not make the box portion of the project. Using the DOC file you could remove the box portion from the instructions. You would then add your contact information, save and send the file. You could also change the photo or text in the Marketing Flyer DOC to personalize the text, or to show the alternate project or other photo.

Generally, you will want to use the PDF files. Just open the PDF file, update your contact info, save and send. Use the DOC files if you want to do more extensive editing. We hope this information helps you make the best use of the tools we provide to help you save time!
