Class in a Flash - Tip of the Month August 2008 - Class Planning Service for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators
Class in a Flash
Tip of the Month

Uploading Animated Graphics to DBWS

When speaking with a number of our members at our Customer Appreciation party this year, we found that many of you were not implementing the Class in a Flash pictures on your Stampin' Up! DBWS sites. This month's tip is a "cheat sheet" of sorts for doing just that.

We have a BIG surprise for you as well!

We have added even more value to Class in a Flash by producing animated graphics for you! That means you can advertise your whole class in one project in your DBWS gallery. Animated graphics are similar to a slide show with several pictures being present automatically. You'll be able to better promote your classes, look super high-tech-cool and the best part is you don't have to do anything more than it takes to add a regular photo to your creative projects on your DBWS!

Here is our recommended to-do list for the 10th of each month when you receive your Class in a Flash subscription in your email inbox.

Setup

Every month download all the Class in a Flash files that you use onto your computer's hard drive for safe keeping. We recommend that you create the following folders:
  • Root Folder: classinaflash
  • Monthly Folder: Aug2008
Move and/or unzip all files into the monthly CIAF folder.

On DBWS
  1. Login to DBWS Creative Projects
  2. Create a new project
  3. Select Click Here to Upload Your Own Image
  4. Select Browse button to your monthly folder and select CIAF-mmmyy.gif (CIAF-aug08.gif) file
  5. Select the Upload button
  6. You will find the image below in the Your Uploaded Images section - Click to choose
Next you want to fill in the recipe section. To do that we will need the Blog Text file (CIAF-Blog-mmmyy.txt). Open that file found in your monthly CIAF folder.
  1. Return back to DBWS screen.
  2. Select title Sweet Thing Card by clicking with your mouse on the title.
  3. Replace Sweet Thing Card with the title at the top of the Blog Text File. To copy the information, highlight the title and copy (CTRL+C) and then paste (CTRL+V).
  4. Next go to the recipe section. If you want to retain the formatting you will need to copy and replace EACH LINE/PRODUCT. If you are not interested in saving the formatting you can copy the complete recipe from the Blog Text File and replace the recipe on DBWS.
  5. Don't forget to leave a marketing line to let them know that this project is in an upcoming class. "These projects are featured in an upcoming class; visit my calendar for more information at http://yoursitename.stampinup.net/events." If you are not sure what your Site Name is you can find it under DBWS - Page Setup – Site Name. Mine is http://www.debbiestamper.biz.
  6. Select the Save Project button.
Congratulations. That's it! Your customers will appreciate seeing fresh gallery pictures on your website and you'll benefit by grabing their interest and keeping your DBWS fresh and exciting!
